We hope you will join us!
During April our special offering supports B4W. This organization has provided more than 200,000 bikes to projects all over the world, including the US. Funds collected help defray the shipping costs which is the primary expense. B4W is a small (tiny!) non-profit organization that depends on collections held by churches, youth organizations, and community clubs.
Bicycles only need to be repairable – they do not need to be in perfect condition. If a bike is really, really, rusty we ask you to consider recycling it at the landfill for its metal content. Bikes being collected are more than just bikes! They are the family vehicles that get kids to school, transport goods to market, and shorten commutes to farm fields and urban jobs. Often a single bike is used by 4-6 people, expanding its impact even more.
On our collection day, we will have volunteers to accept your bikes, fill out receipts, and will “flatten” the bikes by lowering the seats and handlebars and removing the pedals, so that a container can be optimally filled.
Since 2005, B4W has collected more than 200,000 bikes and has delivered 400+ containers to 32 countries, supporting 114 projects!
All donations go to Bikes for the World and are tax deductible. Your old bike could help someone in the world get to work, school, or health services. To see how donated bikes are helping the world, see Bikes for the World. Contact if you have any questions.
